Resideo Introduces New Solutions and Platform Integrations at Design & Construction Week 2025
New First Alert Smart Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarm and integrations with lock and garage door partners help builders protect what matters most
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., (Feb. 24, 2025) – Resideo Technologies, a leading global provider of solutions for home comfort, security and safety, is showcasing new smart solutions and app integrations at the International Builders’ Show (IBS) during Design & Construction Week 2025. Resideo’s new First Alert Smart Smoke & Carbon Monoxide (CO) Alarm and three new lock and garage door integrations will be available on the First Alert app this spring. They will join the First Alert water leak detectors, indoor/outdoor/video doorbell cameras, and Honeywell Home smart thermostats on the First Alert app to provide builders one app to control and monitor the home.
“We recognize every customer and every home is different, and we’ve designed our First Alert app to easily adapt, grow and unite the critical parts of a smart home into one seamless platform,” said Pat Tessier, Vice President of Product Development for First Alert and Honeywell Home solutions at Resideo. “Builders have a solution that integrates trusted brands together into one app experience – without the need for a hub – to create smarter homes, while homeowners have increased awareness and control to help protect what matters most.”
The First Alert app simplifies smart home installation and management and integrates the following categories into a single app experience:
- Life Safety. The new Smart Smoke & CO Alarm from First Alert and BRK offers Precision Detection™ advanced sensing technology, intelligent app notifications and seamless integration with standard, select First Alert/BRK alarm models. The alarm’s wired and wireless interconnectivity ensures that when one alarm sounds, all compatible alarms will sound to notify the home of the emergency and signal within the First Alert app, whether home or away. Builders can provide cost-efficient detection by installing one Smart Smoke & CO Alarm alongside several standard wired interconnected First Alert/BRK smoke alarms, as all alarms within that system can trigger app notifications.
- Air Quality, Comfort and HVAC Control. Honeywell Home smart thermostats offer homeowners energy savings and simple control of indoor air quality, including temperature, humidification and ventilation. The thermostats feature the familiar Honeywell Home wall-mounting plate (UWP®) that offers an easy professional installation solution and makes future replacements or upgrades to Honeywell Home thermostats easier.
- Water Leak Detection and Prevention. The First Alert L Series Water Leak and Freeze Detection System provides homeowners with early alerts for leaks and freezes both on the device and app, and the ability to automatically shut off the water to help prevent costly water damage. A reliable, easy-to-install solution, the L Series and partnerships with leading home insurers help safeguard the home and minimize the risk of future water leak issues.
- Video Surveillance and Security. The First Alert VX Series includes both indoor and outdoor cameras, and a video doorbell with intelligent event detection, high-definition video feeds and real-time alerts. These cameras help homeowners monitor their property and also are compatible with a comprehensive security system that can add value to homes, boosting appeal and providing customers with a professionally monitored security system.
First Alert App Integrations
In addition to Resideo's solutions, the First Alert app offers integrations with key smart home partners so builders can expand the home's protection and capabilities – all from a single app experience. New partnerships with Schlage, Kwikset and Genie will address critical areas for convenience and home protection in the following categories:
- Smart Locks. New integrations with Schlage Encode® Smart WiFi Deadbolt and Lever, Schlage Encode Plus™ Smart WiFi Deadbolt and Kwikset® Halo Select™ smart locks allow homeowners to control locks remotely and securely in the First Alert app.
- Smart Garage Door Opener. Collaboration with Genie provides integration with garage systems, making monitoring and controlling garage access possible through the First Alert app. The partnership connects Genie’s full line of residential and commercial Wi-Fi garage door openers through Aladdin Connect®, as well as the Overhead Door™ Brand’s full line of residential and commercial garage door openers through OHD Anywhere®.
“By collaborating with trusted brands across different product categories, homeowners have access to the best solutions to protect and manage their homes, and they can experience a seamless transition when they move in,” added Tessier. “The First Alert app offers unmatched support and value – not only does it offer a breadth of product categories, but it also combines a seamless connection to professional installers and service experts.”
The First Alert app and solutions will be on display at IBS in Las Vegas, Feb. 25-27, at booth #W4709. For more information visit FirstAlert.com.
