Steps to Troubleshoot Your Thermostat

Ensuring your thermostat is running the latest software can happen in a few ways. Below are the simplest that typically lead to success:
- Restart or power cycle your home WiFi networking equipment. This can be either a modem and WiFi router or gateway (combination modem and WiFi router). Tips to identify each:
- Modem: Connects directly to the wall, often via a round coaxial cable, in addition to an ethernet and power cord.
- WiFi Router: Easily identified by its physical antennas and multiple ethernet ports for hard-wired computers and devices.
- Gateway: A single device that has all the features noted for a modem and router.
- Adjust or reorient the router or gateway antennas.
- Confirm your router or gateway is using the latest system updates. We recommend calling the device manufacturer for help on this.
